OB Hospitalist Medical Director Opportunity in Growing Dallas/Fort Worth Market!

Located in the thriving Alliance corridor of North Fort Worth, Texas Health Alliance is a modern, full-service community hospital serving one of the fastest-growing regions in North Texas. The hospital is recognized for its commitment to women's and infant services and offers advanced maternity care through its Level III Maternal Care Center and Level III NICU.
 
Physicians enjoy a collaborative practice environment with 24/7 anesthesia coverage, neonatology support, and access to a broad network of specialists. As the surrounding communities continue to expand, Texas Health Alliance remains focused on growing its women's services programs while maintaining a patient-centered, team-based approach to care. We are are seeking an experienced OB-GYN Hospitalist Medical Director to lead the development and long-term success of this program. 

 

Medical Director Role Overview

As Medical Director, you will provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for this OB-GYN Hospitalist program. You'll partner closely with hospital leadership to ensure a high-performing, collaborative, and patient-centered service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the OB-GYN hospitalist team
  • Lead program development, including workflows, protocols, and team culture
  • Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with hospital administration, nursing leadership, and community OB/GYNs
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of hospitalist providers
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices

 

Clinical Practice Highlights

  • Schedule: 24-hour, in-house shifts
  • Team Structure: 1 Medical Director + 3 OB-GYN Hospitalists
  • Scope of Practice:
    • OB and GYN triage and surgery
    • Labor & delivery management
    • Obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
    • Inpatient consults

OB Hospitalist Responsibilities include: 

    • Manage OB triage, admissions, deliveries and inpatient care 
    • Cover the OB floor and handle ER consults for GYN emergencies
    • Provide care for unassigned patients and assist with private call coverage 
    • Assist in surgical procedure during c-sections 
    • Respond to emergencies in L&D unit 
    • Work with maternal-fetal medicine specialists to manage high-risk pregnancies 
    • Collaborate with in-house neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners in level III NICU setting
